How Las Vegas Caterers Win Wedding and Corporate Contracts Online
Las Vegas might be the best catering market in America: a wedding industry that never sleeps, a convention calendar that fills hotel ballrooms year round, and a corporate scene that celebrates everything with food. Yet most local catering websites are doing almost nothing to win that business. If you run a catering company here, this is the playbook for turning your website into the salesperson that books the contracts, written by someone who builds these sites for a living.
Understand who is actually searching for you
Catering buyers are almost never the person eating the food. They are a bride’s planner comparing five caterers in a spreadsheet, an executive assistant told to feed forty people next Thursday, a convention exhibitor’s marketing manager, and an HR coordinator at a Henderson office park planning the holiday party in September. Every one of them shares three traits: they are organized, they are comparing you against competitors in one sitting, and they will not call anyone until the shortlist is set. Your website’s job is to survive the spreadsheet.
The five things that get a caterer shortlisted
- Published starting prices. The single biggest separator. “Corporate lunch packages from $18 per person” answers the shortlist question; “contact us for a custom quote” gets you cut by buyers on a deadline. You are not committing to a price, you are earning the conversation.
- Menus as text, by event type. Wedding packages, corporate drop-off, plated dinners, cocktail receptions. Text, not PDF, so Google can rank you for every cuisine and format you offer (the same rule as restaurants).
- Galleries that show the events, not just the food. Buyers are imagining their ballroom, their backyard, their booth. Show setups, staff in uniform, real venues around the valley - a Strip-corridor ballroom in Paradise, a lakeside lawn in Boulder City, a country club patio in Summerlin.
- Proof you can be trusted with the date. Reviews that mention reliability, years in business, health permit and insurance status stated plainly. A catering failure is a public catastrophe for the buyer; certainty sells.
- An inquiry form built for events, asking date, headcount, venue, and budget range, delivered to your phone instantly, because event buyers hire whoever responds first. Same-day response is a competitive weapon in this market.
The three revenue streams need three different pages
Weddings, corporate, and social events search differently and buy differently. “Wedding caterer Las Vegas” buyers want tastings, packages, and planner-friendly logistics (and they cross-shop our wedding industry constantly). Corporate buyers want reliability, invoicing, and repeat-order ease. One generic “services” page ranks for none of them; a dedicated page per stream ranks for all three. This structure decision, more than any design choice, determines how much of the market can find you.
Where the growth is coming from
Two shifts worth building for. First, AI assistants: event planners now ask ChatGPT for caterer recommendations the way they used to ask colleagues, and the caterers with quotable, price-transparent, fact-dense websites are the ones getting named (I wrote up what our own server logs show about this). Second, relocation and destination demand: buyers planning Las Vegas events from other states and countries research entirely online, where your website is the only version of you they will meet before the deposit.
What a catering website costs against one contract
A complete catering website at Las Vegas Website Design runs $1,500 to $2,500 (published pricing), full details on our catering web design page. Set that against the value of one wedding contract or one recurring corporate account and the site pays for itself with the first booking it produces. I have built for Las Vegas food and event businesses since 2005, in-house, from downtown.
